Crochet Piggy Bank

Here I am again, apologising for the long hiatus from blog writing. It looks like I haven’t put my fingers on the keyboard for years. But what better way to jump back into the blogging game than with a winged pig with sunglasses? My latest amigurumi crochet pattern, Grace the Piggy Bank, is officially available and is ready to infuse some cheer into your home decor! At first glance, Grace looks like a plush toy, but has a secret place to hide all your tiny treasured possesions, from coins to jewelry pieces.

If you’re interested in making this cute piggy amigurumi yourself, you can find more info and photos here!

From Piggy Bank To Crochet Hook Holder

While designing the pattern for this piggy amigurumi I realised that it had so much more potential as a versatile and functional home accessory. Not only can it be used as a cute stash box for your precious little possessions. It’s also the perfect solution for organizing your tools. It can keep all your crochet hooks, pencils, even cooking utensils in one place. With its charming design, it can also serve as a nice centerpiece on your table, either as a flower pot or vase.

The pattern works well with different yarns and hooks. To create a flower pot or vase, it’s best to use thicker yarn and larger hook to allow for a bigger container to fit inside the piggy’s tummy. Also, there’s less work involved. You can skip the last few rounds on the top openning, which are specifically crocheted for the piggy bank, so the lid with the slot can fit securely on top. Since you won’t need to use Grace as a stash box, you don’t need to make those extra rounds. Instead, it’s easy to insert and remove a container for watering your plants or changing the water for fresh blooms.

The crochet pattern is available in my shop. It’s a PDF document with 12 pages and 46 photos illustrating the proccess, written in English language, US crochet terms.
